The International Network for Sustainability in Classical Music brings together classical musicians and music institutions to motivate, inspire and connect. It’s a space to share experiences and projects, learn from each other, and develop practical, sustainable solutions for the sector. The network hosts regular online meetings, providing a platform for exchange and the collaborative development of practical approaches to reducing environmental impact.
Our goal is to build a strong community that drives ecological innovation in the classical music sector and support participating artists and institutions in becoming visible role models for staff, fellow artists, and audiences. Hosted by Sam Goldscheider (Founder of Harmonic Progression & Orchestra Manager at Verbier Festival) and Jonathan Gerstner (Cellist & Founder of Eco Classica). Whether you are a musician or part of a music institution and would like to join a meeting, please get in touch with us.

“I look forward to this group developing into a place where those that have realised that the classical music world CAN make a difference meet, share knowledge, and motivate each other, so that they can help and inspire others in our field to make this important realisation.” - Sam

“This network is an excellent opportunity for everyone who is already active for sustainability in classical music (or anyone who'd like to do more) to get to know the people behind other projects, have motivating conversations about the subject, and discover inspiring concepts to have a positive impact on our planet.” - Jonathan

“I‘d like to explore how a carbon neutral music world could look like and how we can get there or as close as possible. I‘m aware that this involves questioning structures/logics and underlying values of the bigger economic system the cultural world is imbedded in.” - Michael
