Puerto Aysén, Chile:
Escuela Almirante Simpson, Escuela Despertar & Liceo Politécnico A1
Sincere thanks to the Swiss Orchestra, who donated approximately 20 sets of strings distributed by volunteer coordinator Valeska Herrera Barraza across three schools in the Aysén region of Chile.
The strings were distributed across three institutions: Escuela Almirante Simpson (Puerto Chacabuco), Escuela Despertar (Puerto Aysén), and Liceo Politécnico A1 (Puerto Aysén). Around 20 students aged 12 to 19 were able to benefit, including musicians with autism, Down syndrome, and specific learning disabilities. The donation is particularly significant as the schools had been without replacement strings since approximately 2021. The strings will support students throughout the 2026 season, including several concerts, end-of-year Christmas performances, arts week events, and school anniversary celebrations.

La Paz, Bolivia:

Sincere thanks to the musicians and organisations who donated strings, distributed by volunteer coordinator Andrea Gabriela Benavides (Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Bolivia, Conservatorio Plurinacional de Música de Bolivia, Stringendo – Escuela de Música).
The package included donations from Boris Brovtsyn, Timothy Ridast, Yoonshin Song (Houston Symphony Orchestra), John Marcus (New York City), Filip Fenrich (Dallas Symphony Orchestra), Nerian Mancini (Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin), Hyunjee Chung, and musicians from Paris. In total, 42 sets of strings were received for violin, viola, cello, guitar, and piano.
The strings were distributed across seven institutions in Bolivia: the Conservatorio Plurinacional de Música, Stringendo – Escuela de Música, Cello Collectivo, Jikiña – Centro Musical, the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Bolivia, the Orquesta Contemporánea de Bolivia, and the Orquesta del CBA (Centro Boliviano Americano). Around 36 musicians aged 14 to 25, the majority women, were able to benefit from this donation. Students at the Conservatorio were able to present their bimonthly examinations in April with a marked improvement in sound quality, having previously had no access to strings of this standard.

Sincere thanks to our Strings4All Volunteer Coordinator, Jason Shi, who collected 698 individual strings in St Louis, Missouri, from musicians across St Louis and Texas, as well as from several packages sent from Hong Kong. Part of his collection, which was kindly distributed by the volunteer coordinator Hector Perez Gareca supported over 100 young musicians in two orchestras in Buenos Aires, Argentina: Orquesta Escuela de Constitución and Orquesta Escuela de Barracas!

Ecuador:
Fundación Alza Alza
Sincere thanks to our Strings4All Volunteer Coordinator, Jason Shi, who collected 698 individual strings in St Louis, Missouri, from musicians across St Louis and Texas, as well as from several packages sent from Hong Kong. Part of his collection supported over 84 young musicians in Ibarra, Otavalo, Cayambe, and Quito through Fundación Alza Alza, led by Director Alejandro Jiménez. Thanks to this generous donation, the musicians were able to perform at a Christmas concert on 28 December in Quito’s Historic Centre.
